Interested in Global Health Education?...

Following on from the highly successful Global Health Short Course in 2009, we are pleased to announce that it will be continuing in 2010!

Last year saw the introduction of our eight-week course and this year hopes to be bigger and better! To do this we are looking to have an enthusiastic Sub-Committee to help with the running of the course. If you have an interest in Global Health- particularly with regards to education or you would simply love to get involved but don't know the best way to go about it- READ ON.

Too often does the question "How do I get involved?" go unanswered. Sub-committee positions are a fantastic way to participate and invest in a project! The GHSC concerns itself with the educational side of Global Health- and aims to raise awareness on key issues on Global Health. We saw so much support in 2009 and it would be great to see the same energy in 2010!

WHEN: The Deadline for applications is the 8th of April.

What we are looking for from our subcommittee:

 

 

 

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To assist with Promotion of the event: Lectures, Universities and other Educational Facilities (Senior High Schools), distribution of promotional material and publications.
  • Liaise with Speakers: To keep in contact with, and help coordinate the speakers invited to the GHSC.
  • Liaise with Volunteer Organizations, NGO's and related Groups: To communicate and collaborate with other organizations that can be involved in the GHSC. The aim of the involvement of external organizations is to provide further volunteer opportunities and information for those attending the course. These organizations need to be sourced, contacted and coordinated so stalls can be run each week at the GHSC.
  • To assist with the general running of the course: The finer details of running the course- including sponsorship, set up and IT. Subcommittee members may be called upon to help with the set up of stalls for volunteer organizations and with any food related tasks prior  to the presentations each week.

The roles and responsibilities of the sub-committee members are not limited to the above, this is an opportunity to contribute to a great project and expand your skills and experience!
