The first lecture will serve as a reference point for the rest of the course. What’s happening at the moment in International health and development? How did we get here, and where are we going? We’ll be looking at some of the historic trends in poverty and inequality around the world, and hoping to identify contextualised areas of need. The UN Millennium Development Goals will be discussed in detail, considering the progress so far, what’s working, and what isn’t. This promises to be an exciting opening to a superb lecture series on what’s happening in your world.
