Mr Graham Forward
Wednesday, 15 July 2009 22:35

Following his medical training at UWA, Mr Graham Forward has worked as an orthopaedic surgeon in Western Australia since 1986. Following the 2005 Tsunami, Graham led a medical team to Bosaso, Somalia in an effort to aid in a swift recovery from the natural disaster. Upon his return, Graham founded a group now known as Australian Doctors for Africa. Since 2005, his organisation has grown into a charity boasting some 70 volunteer medical professionals. The charity now focuses on providing voluntary medical, surgical and nursing services to Ethiopia, Somalia, and Madagascar.

Here in Australia, Graham has worked hard to raise the funds which allow Australian Doctors For Africa to assist in the refurbishment of the Bosaso general hospital. Hospital and medical equipment often shipped over with the volunteers. Looking to use all the resources available and committed to sustainability, ADFA trains medical professionals in Africa.
