Trevor is also project leader for the World Federation of Occupational Therapists United Nations Global Compact project, advocating social justice and upholding human rights through initiatives such as Go Global that aim to work alongside organisations in development, breaking the traditional charitable structure by focusing on long term partnerships between higher education institutions and health care providers to achieve educational and community development outcomes. He is passionate about Go Global as a mechanism that promotes international peace and understanding, cultural exchange, professional and personal development and challenging the traditional notions of development as a western centric concept. He mentors the Students Go Global Society and Go Global Alumni chapter, inspiring students to return to host sites as graduated health professionals, take up positions as Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development and successfully apply for positions in AusAID teams. The student society and Alumni also work alongside the Go Global program delivering orientation sessions, advising on project and scholarship applications and working to build capacity at the host sites. Trevor received a 2004 Vice Chancellors Award for Excellence for establishing creative industry partnerships and a 2005 Curtin Student Guild Teaching Award, nominated by students. His teaching, research and practice focus on corporate citizenship and community business partnerships and are reflected in a Curtin University Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in 2004 and 2005 OT Entrepreneur of the Year for OT Australia WA. Trevor works with social change organisations and corporations, investigating how as citizens of communities they might collectively use financial, creative human resources and capital power to affect positive health and social changes. He sits on the Board for Perth Home Care Services Inc., and his work has previously been recognised with a National Australia Day Council Young Australian Achievers Award and a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship.
