Global Health Conference Partial Registration Now Open!

This year AMSA GHC is pleased to offer a small number of academic Partial registrations.

If you hadn't the time or money to get a full registration (and maybe you are in town for some other festivity) this is your chance to get a taste of global health from world class speakers, browse our Trade Fair and share information and inspiration with motivated medical students from across Australia and around the world.

The Kolkata Project - Applications NOW OPEN!

Applications are now open for the Kolkata Project and will remain so until midnight May 21st.  This year there is an opportunity for 9 pre-clinical medical (including GEMPs)  and health science students (3 each in the months of December, January and February) to travel to Kolkata, India and volunteer with the Indian Institute for Mother and Child

IIMC is a non-governmental organisation committed to promote child and maternal health, literacy and to accelerate international solidarity and peace.  This project is a successful initiative of Dr Sujit Brahmochary and this is the third year that UWA students can lend a hand.  This is a very valuable experience and an amazing opportunity - placements will be highly competitive!

WHAT: Close The Gap UWA 2010

WHERE: OAKLAWN and TATTERSALL Lecture theatre

WHEN:Tuesday 18th May 12pm until 2pm and then 6.00pm until 7.30pm

WHO: ALL STUDENTS!

LUNCH TIME OAKLAWN: Join us during the common lunch hour for a BBQ and to sign the Close The Gap Pledge, learn more about the campaign and show your support by getting your hands dirty by adding a print to the CTG2010 banner.

EVENING EVENT: In the Evening, focus will be given to Education on Indigenous Health with highly qualified Indigenous health experts speaking to students at Tattersall Lecture Theatre at 6.00pm. Light refreshments will then be provided at Shenton House from 7.30 until 9.00pm. More information regarding speakers will be posted shortly!!

IFMSA EXCHANGE - APPLICATIONS OPEN!!!

Have you ever wondered what medicine is like in another country? Are you interested in global health care challenges? Or are you looking new adventures, friendships and good times? Medical exchange is the perfect chance for you!

Applications are open to every third, fourth, fifth and sixth year UWA medical students for 1 month exchanges all over the world. Choose from a range of countries including UK/Ireland, Germany, Denmark, France and Japan.
Download an application form below and submit it to the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. The deadline for applications is Monday 5.00pm 12th April 2010
